The 2022 Kia Niro Hybrid is part of the Niro family of efficient, stylish vehicles. As a crossover hybrid, the new Niro offers the ideal blend of performance, convenience, and technology you want for your everyday life.
The 2022 Kia Niro Hybrid is available at five trim levels: LX, LXS, LXS Special Edition, Touring Special Edition, and EX Premium.
Across the 2022 Niro lineup of models, you’ll have a handful of exciting colors to choose from, like Runway Red, Solar Orange, and Deep Cerulean. From front to back, you’ll find appealing Gloss Black accents, a chrome grille, a rear spoiler, and useful roof rails. The standard Aero wheels measure 16 inches, but you can upgrade to larger 18-inch alloy wheels on the Touring Special Edition model. The exterior design of the new Kia Niro is also functional, with standard and available features like full LED lighting, heated and power-adjustable outside mirrors, and heated rear window glass.
All 2022 Niro Hybrid models are equipped with a peppy 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that works with a Full Parallel Hybrid System to generate 139 combined horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. Max fuel economy is found at the base LX trim, getting up to 53 mpg in the city, 48 mpg on the highway, and 50 mpg combined.[1] To help you go even further, the Niro features regenerative braking that stores energy when braking and uses it to charge the vehicle’s lithium-ion battery. The Drive Mode System with shift paddles on every trim lets you switch from ECO to SPORT mode for a more thrilling drive.
Customization is key with the seating in the 2022 Kia Niro. Seating materials are standard black or gray cloth, but you can go with SynTex (synthetic leather) or leather with blue “hybrid” accents. Ultimate comfort can be found on the Niro LXS Special Edition and above, which come with a 10-way power driver’s seat with two-way power lumbar support. But the standard dual-zone automatic climate control system on every model means you and your front passenger can set your ideal temperatures no matter what it’s like outside. Other available comfort options on the new Niro include a power sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, and a heated (and leather-wrapped steering wheel).
When it comes to technology, the Kia Niro is ready to keep you connected. The standard 8-inch touch-screen display works with Kia Connect to let you remotely access the vehicle to do things like start the engine or lock/unlock the doors. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are also standard, letting you use your favorite compatible apps on the touch screen. You can also connect your smartphone or other compatible devices via Bluetooth® wireless streaming and USB input. A wireless phone charger as well as a 10.25-inch touch-screen display with navigation, SiriusXM®, and HD Radio™ is standard on the Touring Special Edition model. You’ll also get a state-of-the-art Harman Kardon® eight-speaker premium sound system with Clari-Fi™ technology on this trim.
Most of the models in the 2022 Niro lineup feature a long list of Kia driver-assist systems. The Niro LXS comes with helpful features like Forward Collision Avoidance-Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning, Lane Keeping/Following Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, and Rear Occupant Alert. Certain trims also come with Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, which automatically adjusts the speed of the vehicle to keep a safe distance from other cars.
