How much can the Kia Sorento tow?
This question is a little more complex than it was with the Sportage. If you get a Sorento, you will be able to tow at least 2,000 pounds, but it can go up to 5,000 pounds depending on how you configure it. We’ll walk you through all the configuration options that affect your towing.
Essentially, the 4-cylinder L and LX models which are front-wheel drive only give the Sorento its baseline 2,000 pounds of towing capacity. If you upgrade to any of the V6 models including the LX V6, EX, V6, SX, or SX Limited, then you will be able to tow up to 3,500 pounds with front-wheel drive. You can push that up to the maximum 5,000 pounds on any of those V6 trims if you opt for all-wheel drive.
