Safety

There’s no shortage of standard and available safety systems on the 2023 Sportage Hybrid. A variety of driver-assist features come standard, including Driver Attention Warning, LED headlights with High Beam Assist, Lane Following Assist and Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance with Cyclist Detection, Rear Occupant Alert, a Rear View Monitor with Dynamic Parking Guidance, and Reverse Parking Distance Warning. As you move through the trims, more systems become standard. Interior

The cabin of the 2023 Sportage is modern, tech-savvy, and roomy. The cockpit is futuristic and features angular air vents as well as coat hangers molded behind the front headrests. The seatbacks also house USB ports and an integrated hook for shopping bags. Along with utility, the interior is spacious, offering class-leading rear legroom (41.3 inches), best-in-class rear cargo capacity (39.5 cubic feet), and a dual level cargo floor. Across the 2023 Sportage Hybrid lineup you’ll have the option of real stitching and detailed patterns on the seats as well as animal-free leather on certain models.

Technology

To match the utility and style of the cabin, the Sportage HEV’s infotainment offerings go beyond the norm. While you’ll find standard features like Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, the intuitive touchpad with climate and audio controls takes things to the next level by eliminating physical knobs. Beyond touch controls, you have the ability to choose an available dual panoramic curved display that seamlessly connects two screens totaling nearly 25 inches. Additional available tech options include wireless charging, an eight-speaker Harman Kardon® premium audio system, and Kia Connect.

Exterior

The new “Opposites United” design philosophy from Kia has been implemented in the 2023 Sportage Hybrid. The complete transformation of this iconic Kia SUV includes a tiger nose grille with a floating design, distinct boomerang daytime running lights, angular fenders, a crisp shoulder line, and special hybrid badging.

Depending on the model you select, you can choose from one of seven appealing colors for the Sportage Hybrid’s exterior. This includes unique options like Vesta Blue, Gravity Gray, or Dawning Red. Across the vehicle’s three trims are three different wheel designs: 17-inch Aero alloy wheels, 18-inch machine finished alloy wheels, and 18-inch matte gray finish alloy wheels.

When it comes to functionality, the 2023 Sportage HEV comes with standard features like bright LED headlights, a rear window washer/wiper, heated rear glass, and power-adjustable side mirrors. Roof rails are standard on the EX model and above, allowing you to haul cargo atop the SUV. Other available exterior features include heated side mirrors, a heated windshield, and a Smart Power tailgate that automatically opens when you stand behind the Sportage Hybrid with your key on you.

Performance

The 2023 Sportage HEV takes everything you love about the gas-powered model and adds an even more efficient powertrain. With its 1.6-liter turbo GDI engine, 44kW permanent magnet electric motor, and high-output 1.49 kWh lithium-ion battery, the Sportage Hybrid is expected to deliver 226 horsepower combined.

This hybrid system is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with a rotary style shifter, delivering a best-in-class combined fuel economy rating of 43 mpg.[1] And as a hybrid SUV, the Sportage Hybrid offers class-leading towing with a capacity of 2,000 pounds.

In addition to being efficient, the new Sportage Hybrid can also take you off the beaten path. With 8.3 inches of ground clearance and Active All-Wheel Drive, you’ll have the confidence to go on many adventures. You’ll also have four drive modes to choose from — Normal, Smart, Sport, and Snow — to suit various terrain and road conditions.
