Incorrect information is always circulating through the Internet, but we are here to set the record straight. The car pictured here in Red Bull livery is not the Forte GT. This is actually a custom Forte drift car that Red Bull helped develop for a recent ad campaign. Unlike a lot of ad cars, this car is real. It sports a twin-turbo V6 that delivers 375 horsepower to the rear wheels. It’s impressive as a drift car, but it is not the Forte GT.

For 2020, the Forte lineup is getting a revision. The lineup will begin with the FE and go up from there with the LXS, and the EX. Above the EX you get a trim called the GT Line, and above that comes the top GT trim.

What is the GT Line trim?

The GT Line trim gets a lot of the looks and some of the features from the GT trim, but it keeps the same 147-horsepower 2.0-liter engine as the rest of the Forte lineup. Above the GT Line trim is where things get really interesting.

The GT trim of the Forte will get its own special engine for 2020. It’s a 1.6-liter turbocharged powerhouse that’s capable of delivering 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. The Forte GT will be available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters.

This drivetrain will also be paired with a fully independent front and rear suspension and larger sway bars. For more braking power, the Forte GT will also receive larger front disc brakes. The Forte GT is even available with 225/40R-18 Michelin Pilot Sport Summer tires. For more features, you can also add the GT1 package or the GT2 package.
